U-17 Tournament in Canada
U-17 Australian Rules Football
USA vs. Canada
August 4 & 5 2007
THE CHALLENGE:
Our friends from the Great White North (Canada) have challenged us (USA) to a junior Aussie Rules match to be held in Vancouver, BC, in the summer of ’07.
THE EVENT:
The weekend will include adult matches between the Northwind (Canadian national team) and Revolution (US national team) and possibly teams from other nations.
COSTS:
Should be below $500 per person and may be as low as $400: including flight to Seattle shared cost of vans, housing on UBC campus, meals and admission to the world renowned Museum of Anthropology.
The first team will be selected based on an evaluation of all applications received by February 15, 2007. No prior experience is required, but each player will need to commit to footy training in 2007.
This is a unique and rare opportunity to travel to a friendly country and represent our county in an athletic event.
Players must be under the age of 17 at the time of the tournament (minimum age 13). Parents are welcome to join the trip.
