Baltimore/Washington's Awards Night
A Farewell to a Winning Season; A Hello to New Goals
With one of the Eagles' most successful and active seasons at a close, the boys of blue and gold celebrated with a fantastic awards night and rung in the 2007 season by electing their new executive committee.
Held at Finn & Porter's Restaurant in downtown Washington, DC, thirty-six Eagles and close friends and family took part in recapping a year that saw the Eagles win a National title, play thirteen games of metro footy, five EAFL games, a social calendar full of events spanning from a golf classic to whitewater rafting and paintball.
The big winners from the awards night are as follows:
Best & Fairest - R.J. Wheelock
Best & Fairest Runner Up - Kevin Stanley
Tom Weeks Clubman Award - Amy Bishop
President's Award - Josh Worner
Coach's Award - Dave Schall
Best First Year Player - Kevin Stanley
National's Most Valuable Player - Joe O'Dwyer
Club Champion Award - Dave Schall

Most Improved Player - Damien Moore

Gration "Man of Glass" Gag Award - Tony Goodman
"Clanger of the Year" Gag Award - Cord Chase
With a slide show, reenactments and stories galore, the Eagles bid 2006 a fond farewell and then turned their sights on higher goals in 2007.
Starting with the election of the new 2007 executive committee, the momentum to push even harder for more wins at a more competitive level was evident by the number of returning officers.
President - Rob Brunton (returning to position)
Vice President - Garth Elliott (returning to position)
Vice President - Chris Carroll (new to position)
Secretary - Dave Schall (returning to position)
Treasurer - Tony Goodman (new to position)
Head Coach - Matt Bishop (returning to position)
A big thanks to Clint Schipper and Dave Waldron for a super year as 2006 officers and looking to step up in more social sides of the club in '07.
Thank you to everyone who made sure the night was a great time out and to all those that attended the event. The Eagles will be back with a flurry of activity during the off-season months (DVD release party, Joe O'Dwyer farewell party, paintball in February, "Snow Ball" footy game in the snow, International Rules Game with the Baltimore Gaels, etc.) and then again, when the season kicks back in full gear come early March. Look for the emails and the website for all the latest!
