Dockers Celebrate 10th Anniversary
Cincinnati Dockers Australian Rules Football Club Celebrates 10th Anniversary in 2006
The Cincinnati Dockers Australian Rules Football Club (est.1996) is celebrating our 10th Anniversary of Aussie Rules in America. In September, of 1996, the Cincinnati Dockers became the first Australian Rules Football Club in the USA (first game being played Sept 28th, Vs Louisville and coming out victorious). In October, of 1996, the Fremantle Dockers Football Club of the AFL became the first professional club to sponsor a US Club. On November, 16th 1996, Cincinnati played their 2nd game Vs Indianapolis also coming out victorious. The Fremantle Dockers Football Club continues to this day to support the Cincinnati Dockers with equipment, uniforms and goodwill.
The Cincinnati Dockers are 2-time US National Champions (1997 and 2004), Grand Final Festival Champs (’98,’99). These are just a few of the titles that Cincinnati has won in our impressive history. The Dockers also became the first All-American Squad to ever win an Aussie Rules match (1999).
The Cincinnati Dockers hosted the first 3 US National Tournaments and have placed at least 1 player on the US National team every year. To date the Dockers have played more than 154 games (non-metro). The Dockers have been involved in the community with such activities like Jr. Development (6yrs), Fairfield Holiday Festivals (8yrs) and charitable donations to keep the Dockers a strong and vital club.
So join us in celebrating our 10th Anniversary and 10 years of Aussie Rules in America with many more to come.
Sincerely
