Rory meets the West Coast Eagles

Rory and Westcoast Eagles Star, Chris Judd.

Eight year old Richmond supporter, Rory Matthews, was overwhelmed by Westcoast Eagles support last weekend at the MCG.

The Eagles heard of Rory's catapault to international fame when television and newspaper coverage stretched across the globe about his unusual training routine.

For some months now, Rory, an only child, has been training with his animals at The Childrens' Animal Farm in Tarneit. In particular, an orphaned alpaca that he is bottlefeeding is his favourite footy partner.

"Chicky loves the game", said Rory. "He has taught me how to tackle for the ball and we have a great time".

In appreciation of Rory's enthusiasm for Aussie Rules football, the Eagles invited Rory to their match against Hawthorn at the MCG. Rory met with the players and was presented with a fully autographed Eagles jumper.

Rory plays for the Under 9's Westbourne Warriors in the WRFL.
