Ambassador Rudd Becomes USAFL Patron

The United States Australian Football League (USAFL) is pleased to announce that HE the Hon Dr Kevin Rudd AC, Australian Ambassador to the United States of America has accepted an offer to become the USAFL Patron.  This marks a significant step forward in the USAFL’s efforts to further develop partnerships with key Australian government officials and business leaders in the US and Australia.

Ambassador Rudd will represent the USAFL where appropriate in working towards strengthening ties between the Australian and American governments.  Ambassador Rudd took up his appointment as Ambassador to the United States of America in March 2023.

Ambassador Rudd served as Australia’s twenty-sixth Prime Minister from 2007 to 2010, then as Minister for Foreign Affairs, before a second term as Prime Minister in 2013. He was Member for Griffith in the Australian Parliament from 1998 to 2013.

“We hope with Ambassador Rudd’s support we can continue to strengthen our business and government relationships.  The USAFL has steadily grown over the past twenty-five years promoting Australian Football and culture throughout the US.  The league features both men and women’s competitions, regional tournaments, umpires’ association, men’s and women’s national teams and hosts the largest Australian Football tournament in the world.  To further its development, the USAFL Executive will work with the Ambassador towards common objectives,” USAFL President, Seb Aguiari.
