Seow to Coach East Coasters vs Revos

The USA Revolution’s journey to Melbourne and next year’s International Cup championship continues with a camp in Philadelphia next weekend.  Dozens of prospective American players will make their way to the City of Brotherly Love, in search of being one of those selected by coach Tom Ellis and his staff as one of those to represent their country against some of the world’s best footy players.

As part of the camp, the Revolution campers will face an East Coast All-Star team, made up of players from USAFL Eastern regional teams.  Leading up that conglomerate will be former Collingwood and current Baltimore-Washington player Dannie Seow, who will take on coaching responsibilities.

Seow joined the Eagles this season as a player and assistant to coach Robert Stankovic.  Previously, he had came up through the Melbourne Demons youth system before joining Collingwood, where he played 18 games over two seasons.  After coming to the U.S. to try out for the University of North Carolina gridiron football team in 1988, Seow returned to Australia where he played a further seven matches for Melbourne in 1989-90.

The local match is the conclusion of the Revolution training camp calendar, and will take place on Sunday, August 7th at Lower Perkiomen Valley Park, home of the Philadelphia Hawks.  The Revos played similar matches against Austin and Tampa this season at camps in those locations.

Any players on the East Coast – or beyond – interested in playing can contact Christopher Adams at christopherpadams@gmail.com.
