USA Revolution and Development Rosters Announced

Representing 19 teams from coast to coast, the USA Revolution and Development squads rosters have been announced for the 2015 49th Parallel Cup matches against Canada.

The rosters, selected by USA Revolution head coach Tom Ellis, assistant coach Dan Sarbacker, and the rest of their staff, are a mixture of veterans at the club and national level, as well as new American footballers who are the next generation of the sport's future in this country.

"It is so exciting to see all the talent the USAFL has to offer for the USA Revolution," Ellis said.  "I expect a tight and hard hitting game against our biggest rival."

Players were put their paces at the Revos' training camp in Nashville on June 7th.  There, Ellis and his coaching staff evaluated the players both through drills as well as in a test match against the local USAFL side, the Nashville Kangaroos.  Ellis was also on hand in Sacramento this past weekend to observe the Western Regional Tournament.

The Revolution squad will take on the Canada Northwind Men's National Team at Central Broward Regional Park in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on Saturday night, August 1st.  The night before, the Development squad, nicknamed the "Devos", will take to the field against the Canadian Development team.

"The development squad playing on Friday night gives more players a chance to get in front of the coaches," Ellis stated.  "At this early stage, as we get ready for the next International Cup in 2017, it is very important to give everyone that has the potential to play for the USA a look."

As has been his mantra since taking over as coach, Ellis has sought out the help of the teams themselves to help the national team program towards the goal of winning an International Cup title in two years' time. "I have been very excited with all the coaches from across the USAFL that have been so generous with their time to help us identify the top talent in the country," he said.

Ellis also stated that there may be additions to the Development squad roster prior to the teams making their way to Florida at the end of the month.

Congratulations to our Revos and Devos!
