USAFL Appoints New Treasurer
The USAFL has appointed Keith Nelson as league treasurer effective June 1, 2012. As planned, former treasurer Adam Coleman stepped down from his duties after a three-year term that had seen significant financial organization.
The league had several candidates for the open position. Executive board members and USAFL Advisory Board member Gary Lerch conducted interviews during the two month-long search before recommending Nelson’s appointment.
Originally from Ohio, Keith currently resides in North Carolina and works as a portfolio manager for the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer in the Retirement Systems Division. A graduate of Davidson College and the Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University), Keith has focused his education on economics. At Davidson, he was a standout swimmer for the Division One Wildcats and has recently turned his attention to competitive triathlons.
States Nelson, “While I am new to the USAFL, I am excited to join the league and focus on the finances. It certainly is an exciting time of growth and opportunity for the league.”
League president Andy Vanica contacted Nelson via the Davidson alumni network and after an extensive search and interview process, believes he is the right person for the role. “I am fully confident that Keith will look after the league’s fiscal health as we move forward in reaching our goals,” he said.
