2013 Seattle Grizzlies Exemption Request for Kevin Stanley

Player:
Kevin Stanley
Exemption Type:
Eligibility Points
Reason:
The need for this request has cropped up in the eleventh hour. Kevin would have qualified with 6 pts as of our 5 Oct match v Portland and that had been the plan, but as of 30 Sep informed the club of a family obligation that will prevent him from playing that day. One of our few USAFL matches this season was played the same day that he was away playing with the Revolution in the 49th Parallel Cup. While I understand Revo players were warned of such conflicts, this meant that he had three other opportunities to qualify, one of which being the Reno tournament that the Grizzlies pulled out of. Not a problem when there was 5 Oct that would have qualified him last minute, but family takes priority in this case. Kevin has been a committed member of the Grizzlies since moving to Seattle last year, including attending off-season board meetings to establish his relationship with the club. His influence in training and on the field has been invigorating to all players. We ask that you grant Kevin Stanley a points exemption for 2013 Nationals based on his overall commitment to the Grizzlies, the USAFL, and the US Revolution.
