Aireen was born in the Philippines and lived for a few years in New Zealand and then Australia as a child however, she had no involvement in AFL while there. She moved to the US with her family in 2002 where she has lived since. She began working at the Australian Embassy in 2020 and joined the women's AFL team after her colleagues suggested she try a new sport.
