2014 Calgary Australian Football Club Exemption Request for james brosnan

Player:
James Brosnan
Exemption Type:
Eligibility Points
Reason:
To the USAFL, James (Jim) Brosnan has payed for the Calgary Kangaroos since July of this year, playing every possible Calgary intraclub game since moving to the city. Without having employment, Brosnan did not register for the USAFL until it was clear that he would be able to afford to trip to Ohio - after already having played numerous games. When he first attempted to register for the USAFL on August 22 he was unable to pay his fees due to some technical issues on the website meaning he did not receive points for the Calgary game on August 23. He was able to pay the $65 on August 27, leaving him enough time to qualify for the Nationals tournament. But with Vancouver sides pulling out of their scheduled game in Calgary on September 6, Brosnan will be short on points prior to the USAFL event - two short of the required six. Brosnan has immersed himself with the Kangaroos, hardly missing a training session or club function since his arrival. We hope that he can be considered for an exemption to play in Division 1 for the Kangaroos this season.
League Ruling
Status:
Granted
Reason:
Granted. Copies of James' passport & entry date have been provided & corroborate with his request. They will also need to be presented in person at check in at Nationals for final confirmation. Vancouver pulling out of their scheduled game on Sep 6 was also considered.
