Cailin is a molecular microbiologist focusing on HIV therapeutics at the Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT and Harvard in Cambridge, MA. While doing her PhD in Baltimore, MD, she was invited to play Ausball by Eileen Geoghegan, a former USAFL Freedom player, and was unsatisfied "tagging" players with the ball so she made the transition to footy. After a couple years with the Baltimore Washington Eagles and finishing graduate school, Cailin moved to MA for work where she quickly joined the Lady Demons and has been trying to grow the women's team ever since.

She is heading into her fourth year as a player and third year serving as a board member for the Sacramento Australian Football Club.
