Role Descriptions
Junior Development
- Main contact for development questions
- Develop curriculum/training plans for use in schools
- Chair development committee made up of individuals from the clubs interested in junior development
- Main contact with AFL on junior development issues
- Liaise with clubs on junior development issues and strategies
- Develop and maintain information on junior development portion of the web-site
- Attend USAFL board meetings by conference call (once a month)
- Coordinate the junior developments programs in the USA and liaise with Canada
- Develop infrastructure for future growth of junior development
- Main contact for development related questions
- Coordinate develop curriculum/training plans for use in schools
- Oversee implementation of curriculum/training into schools
- Develop and maintain comprehensive database of schools/individuals for tracking purposes
- Follow up training completed in schools
- Assist with development of hot spot criteria
- Assessing requests for funding/resources based on hot spot criteria.
- Main contact with AFL on junior development issues
- Expand development from school games to out of school leagues
- Liaise with clubs on junior development issues and strategies
- Provide support to club junior development officers
- Prepare regular information for publication on web and in e-newsletter
- Time - 4 to 8 hours per month.
International Liaison
- Main contact between USAFL and AFL
- Communicate with international leagues, sitting on regional committees as appropriate.
- Meet with AFL on a regular basis (not paid by USAFL)
- Attend USAFL board meetings by conference call (once a month)
- Time - 4 hours per month
National Umpire Director
- Maintain database of all interested and qualified umpires in USA
- Organize umpire clinics
- Send “Umpire Kits” to prospective umpires
- Maintain inventory of umpiring materials
- Main contact for umpire questions
- Develop and maintain information on umpire development portion of web-site
- Main contact with AFL on umpiring issues
- Liaison with clubs on umpiring development issues and strategies
- Attend USAFL board meetings by conference call (once a month), providing update
- Maintain catalogue of feedback on individual umpires
- Track the development of individual umpires
- Chair umpire committee made up of regional umpire coaches and senior umpires
- Select and schedule umpires for national tournament
- Assist Treasurer with development of umpires budget and tracking of related expenses
- Prepare regular information for publication on web and in newsletter
- Time – 20 - 30 hours per month
National Coaching Director
- Maintain database of all USAFL Club coaches
- Main contact for coaching questions
- Develop and maintain information on coaching development portion of web-site
- Main contact with AFL on coaching issues
- Liaison with clubs on coaching development issues and strategies
- Attend USAFL board meetings by conference call (once a month), providing updates
- Chair Coaching Development and Rules committee
- Time – 4 to 8 hours per month
Women’s Portfolio
- Attend USAFL board meetings by conference call (once a month), providing update
- Liaison with clubs on developing women’s development issues
- Prepare regular information for publication on web and in newsletter
- Main contact women’s football questions
- Time - 4 to 8 hours per month.
USA Revolution Coach
- Manage talent pathway and team selection
- Conduct training sessions as necessary
- Coach international matches, including 49th Parallel Cup and International Cup
- Attend USAFL board meetings by conference call (once a month)
- Liaison with clubs on developing men’s development issues
- Prepare regular information for publication on web and in newsletter
- Main contact Revolution football questions
- Time - 4 to 8 hours per month.
USA Freedom Coach
- Manage talent pathway and team selection

- Coach international matches, including 49th Parallel Cup and International Cup
- Attend USAFL board meetings by conference call (once a month)
- Liaison with clubs on developing women’s development issues
- Prepare regular information for publication on web and in newsletter

- Time - 4 to 8 hours per month.
