Presidents Incoming address

I would like to take the time to thank the outgoing 2002 USAFL board.

I think that the way the 2002 season was handled showed great leadership within a small group of people that bonded very well. Their dedication and time cant be shown here in words, but we all know that it was a mammoth effort from all.

With new blood entering the board we feel that 2003 will again be another huge year. In 2003 we will see the introduction of Auskick, lead by Denis Ryan and team, two different scholarship programs to play football in Australia, and a continuing search for new ways to promote the league to the media.

The new USAFL board again will continue to strive forward in continuing to promote and grown footy here in the United States. Again, we will be searching for new sponsors and better ways to implement our structure, so all clubs can continue to grow and we can move from strength to strength.

For all that dont know me; I am an Australian born one eyed Tigers supporter with huge passion about Aussie Football. I started playing when I was six and have only taken time off for some injuries and to spend time as a VFL umpire. I will continue to be the straight talking person that you all know, and will try to continue to bring my passion of football into my new role as President. I play footy with my heart on my sleeve and will bring that passion into my role, and feel with the team I have with me we will have a boomer year. With over 25 years of Football under my belt, at all levels of competition and administration, I feel confident that the knowledge I have will be used wisely.

With the support of the board and clubs, I feel that we can move forward again into 2003 in growth, sponsorship and another game breaking year.

Please join me in welcoming the new board. I urge you to contact the Vice President for your region with any ideas that you may have. Good luck for all clubs in the upcoming season.
