Kookaburras present third Life Membership

 
Jim Batten presents the Life Membership plaque to Wayne Kraska


Wayne has held club positions of Coach (2003, 2005), Assistant Coach (2002, 2004), Secretary (2003), President (2004 to 2007) and was the driving force behind the very successful running of the 2004 USAFL Nationals in Atlanta. He was awarded the Consul General Kookaburras Cup (2003, 2004) and has played 64 games, equal third highest for the Kookas.


Wayne has done it all for the Kookaburras, practically running the club for the past few years receiving also from the USAFL the Paul 'Plugger' O Keefe Medal for Administration Excellence in 2006. Also in 2007 Wayne was awarded the Outstanding Community Service Award by the Australian New Zealand American Chamber of Commerce in Atlanta for development of Australian Rules Football in Atlanta.


Wayne is also the current coach of the USA Freedom Women’s Footy team and the Atlanta Lady Kookaburras, leading the latter to three straight US National titles. He’s been voted Best & Fairest Player in Atlanta a record three times (2003, 2005, 2007) and runner up for that award once (2002) and in his tenure with the club, has shown everyone his enthusiasm for the game by being the thick of play every week.


Wayne joins elite company as a Life Member, along with just Mike Powers and Marty Hyder.


Wayne has given his all for the Atlanta Kookaburras and thoroughly deserves the accolades and the club’s highest honor.
