National Women's Coach Announced

Congratulations to Wayne Kraska, President of the Atlanta Kookaburras and Coach of the Lady Kookaburras (winners of the 2006 Womens National Tournament) on his selection as the first ever USAFL National Womens Coach.

Wayne has coached on many different levels of the game, including in Melbourne in the U12 U13, U14 & U15 age groups as well as at senior level six times in Australia.

Since being based in the USA 5 years ago he has been actively involved in coaching the Atlanta Men’s teams as Head or Assistant Coach and, for the last two years the Atlanta Women’s Team as Head Coach.

He received his Level 1 AFL coaching accreditation in 1992.

Wayne remains a student of the game and is passionate about the development of Aussie Rules in its traditional form internationally. He believes that a strong National team and program opens the developmental path further for all new participants that come to the sport which can only be a positive move for women’s Aussie Rules football in the US.
