Key USAFL Advisor Visits N. Carolina Tigers

Raleigh, North Carolina – Tuesday October 23, 2006: This week the North Carolina Tigers Australian Football Club has been fortunate to host Mr. Tony Fairhead, the Director of the USAFL’s Australian Advisory Board, on his first visit to North Carolina. North Carolina has been one of the most successful football clubs in developing a very active College program, and with many of the student players enjoying Metro competition with their school team, and then playing with the Tigers in the EAFL.

Basing his visit in Raleigh, Tony was kept busy spending time with the Tigers Administration and playing group, and reviewing the overall footy program and character of the Tigers Club. A special reason for the visit was to visit the College campuses and football programs at North Carolina State University (NCSU) and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH). Tony was able to visit the facilities of both campuses, and also view training at Chapel Hill under lights, and on the “all weather” turf that the side practices on.

“We are very happy that Tony could take time out of his schedule to visit our Club and ask us our opinions and ideas on growing the game” said Tigers President Wes McCallister. He added: “The College program is such a fundamental part of the Tigers, it was obvious that Tony took a lot away from seeing the players and the facilities that we have access too”.
