A Mile High in Denver with Brett Kirk

The lush green athletic field at Auraria Campus in Downtown Denver was the site for the 2011 USAFL Mile High Challenge.

On Saturday June 25, 2011 over 100 men and women players from around the USAFL converged at the picturesque college campus on a warm sunny Colorado day. Over 200 sun screened spectators lined the boundary line including former Sydney Swans Captain and current Swans Hall of Famer, AFL Ambassador, Brett Kirk. Brett was in Denver as part of his “Captain Kirks Odyssey” world tour.

July Regional Teleconferences

Regional teleconferences for all club Presidents will be held next week, see below for schedule.  The teleconference is an opportunity to hear from President, Rich Mann and your Region VP on important topics for the remainder of the season.  If you can not make the call for your region, you are welcome to attend one of the other two calls or you may have another club rep attend the call on your behalf.  Only one club rep per club please.  Contact your club President or Doren James for call-in details.

International Cup Draw Released

International Cup 2011

The AFL has released the draw for the International Cup to be held in Sydney and Melbourne August 12 – 27.  There will be 18 countries competing in the men’s competition. Round one will be a seeding round used to determine two divisions. Teams have been split into six groups of three with each team to play the other two teams in its group in lightning match format of 2 X 15 minute halves. Based on the results of round one the top twelve teams will be placed in Division 1 and the remaining six will make up Division 2.
