Revolution Slice Samurai

The Revolution came into their game against Japan looking to build upon the momentum they established in their first two victories in round 1.  The determination and desire was evident from the opening bounce.  The Revos moved the ball in to their forward 50 quickly and it rarely left that end of the ground.  Jesse Leos got the scoring started with an early goal and Andy Vanica, Bryan Dragus (2), Jacob Moyer and Donnie Lucero rounded out the scoring in a dominant opening term. The next three quarters were much the same as the Revos ran away with a 17.12 (114) to 0.1 (1) victory.

Game Day Preview: Revolution set to take on Japan

First up for the Revolution in Division 1 pool play will be Japan.  In Saturday’s action the Samurai went 1-1 on the day.  Losing their first game against a young, athletic Nauru side by 23 points, 6.6 (42) to 3.1 (19). Nauru also defeated Fiji setting up a showdown between Japan and Fiji in what turned out to be a dramatic thriller.

Peaceful Northwind Can't Stop the Revolution

The Revolution have gotten their 2011 International Cup campaign off to a fantasitc start. After going 2-0 in pool play the Americans have secured the number 5 seed in Division 1.  Their first game was against familiar foe Canada Northwind and was one of the mostly highly anticipated matchups of the opening round.  The game did not disappoint and was described by the announcer as, "A slog with neither team willing to concede a goal."

The USA Takes on the World

IC 2008 Revos

This Friday, August 12 the 2011 AFL International Cup officially kicks off in Sydney, Australia. More than 70 USAFL members are travelling to Australia to represent the USA Revolution and USA Freedom squads.

Both the Revolution and Freedom squads include players from all over the United States with a wide range of ages, experience, athletic ability, professional careers, ethnic backgrounds, you name it!
