Big John Cracks the Ton
Round 6 of GGAFL sees Big John Ironmonger play his 100th game of footy on US soil. A life member of the the league, John has helped promote the game more so than anybody else and has shown his amazing administrative skills extend far beyond hosting the end of year BBQ.


John and the Hornets will take on the Knights this Saturday following the curtain-raiser between the Mavs and Pirates. Drinks afterward, so come down and help us say congratulations to a legend of a man.

Footy, Footy, Footy………it must be God’s country

On a recent trip back to Australia I finally made it out to Perth. Three previous attempts hadn’t worked out as plane companies went broke (for you Aussies, remember Compass and the even shorter lived Southern Airlines) but my WA mates have always told me that it’s God’s country. Well, if it’s true, there’s no doubt he resides in Fremantle. What a beautiful place.

Barassi Youth Tournament

 The AFL, in partnership with the Barassi Tournament Board, will soon be calling for expressions of interest from international schools teams wishing to participate in this major youth, non-elite, sporting and cultural event.



Players participating in 2008 need to be no older then 16-years of age at the time of the tournament.

US Armed Forces Footy News

FT Bragg is coming on board when the 2 Heavy Brigade Combat Team redeploys from Iraq this fall.  PFC Chase Brennen has contacted Julie Upton and Paynee to get the ball rolling for the ‘Airborne Soldiers’ of FT Bragg.  Julie was gracious enough to send several footys while Paynee sent some DVDs to Brennen in Iraq.  God Speed Brennen and Airborne All the Way.

Nationals Hotel Booking Information

We are delighted to announce that we have secured two hotels for the 2007 Nationals which will be ideal for clubs and supporters.  Both hotels are close to the fields, offer reasonable rates and are looking forward to hosting the 2007 Nationals.  Room costs include a hot breakfast.


The Ramada and the Brownsboro have blocked their rooms for the League for the weekend, however we believe there may not be sufficient rooms for all our players and supporters, so we suggest you book as soon as possible.

Paul Roos joins USAFL Australian Advisory Board

 



The Australian Advisory Board was set up in 2006 with a vision of inviting friends of the USAFL in Australia, who have stature in both business and football, to advise the USAFL on issues including business in Australia, the inner workings of the game in Australia and to increase the USAFL’s general understanding of everything football.
