25th Anniversary Umpire Teams

Last week we were proud to announce the 25th Anniversary Select teams representing the best players at Nationals. As we all know you cannot play a game without Umpires so this week we are excited to share the four Select Umpiring test that match up with each Nationals Select Team.

Each Umpiring Crew is made up of three central umpires, two goal umpires, and four boundaries.

In addition, every team needs a Coach and Brian Green was selected as the Umpires Coach.

25th Anniversary Nationals Select Teams

The USAFL Nationals is the complete celebration of Australian Rules in the United States. The USAFL hosts the largest single weekend of football competition it the world, including Australia. From a very small beginning in 1997 with one field and five teams it has grown to over a thousand players and coaches, five fields playing continuously footy, over 70 games across six divisions of Men’s and Women’s footy, and over 45 teams competing for the ultimate prize. It is truly a fantastic event.

USAFL 25th Anniversary Club Teams

2022 was a big year for the USAFL. We proudly celebrated our 25 th Anniversary of the League. We have come along way from our first Nationals in 1997. To celebrate the 25 th we hosted a special Gala evening where we unveiled many awards and some fantastic videos highlighting the growth of the USAFL.

2023 49th Parallel Cup Men's Preview

Aussie Rules football loves its rivalries.  Every contest, every possession, every score is magnified.

Some of them are as old as the sport itself.  WIth a history going all the way back to the 1890s, Carlton and Collingwood come to mind. On the other end of the spectrum is the QClash; Gold Coast and Sydney, established 2011.

Entertain Us - Previewing the 2023 Western Regionals

Tucked away in the northwest corner of the US, sometimes (unfairly or no) under a constant yet occasional gray cloud or two, the Emerald City area is indeed a rare gem.

It’s in that sweet zone between the gateway of the Pacific and rising mountains on either side.  Truly a spectacular sight on this or any other continent.  It’s known for its earthy music, hilly terrain, and literal (if not human propelled) flying fish.

I Might Take A Plane - Previewing the SuperRegionals

“Ev’rythin’s up to date in Kansas City, They’ve gone about as fur as they c’n go!
They went and build a skyscraper seven stories high – about as high as a buildin’ orta grow.”

It’s always been a modern city in the middle of the American prairie.  Even in the dramatized version of 1905, it was renowned for its progress and charm.  It’s still a beacon of charming, modern wonders even today.

It’s a city of fountains.  Don’t believe me?  Check their flag.  There’s a literal fountain on it.  (And the new KC Power jumpers pay homage to that).

As we head into May and more teams start to stir out of their slumber, we have three matches on the docket here featuring some old school rivalries.  Each of the teams here were founded at the end of the 1990s, and continue to write the legendary battles between them.  Our friends in Canada also have a tournament happening in Ottawa as we prepare to welcome our friends from La Belle Province down to Florida for Nationals in October.

What's On Tap: Anzac Day Round 2023

After weeks of training, shaking of the dust and rust of the off season, and staying warm for a run, the time has come to kickstart the 2023 USAFL Season.

And what way to do it than around a time that is traditionally surrounded by Aussie Rules Football.

ANZAC Day is a solemn commemoration of those who served their country.  The sport is played overseas on the day between soldiers and veterans as a celebration of the Australian culture.
