USAFL Regular Season:

Nashville 10.11 (71) defeats Atlanta 4.5 (29)

The Kangaroos held sway at home against the rival Kookaburras, blowing open a close game at halftime en route to a 42-point win at Elmington Park.  Cliff “Nugget” Cosnahan lit up the Kookas for six of Nashville’s ten major scores.  [Recap]

Metro Round-Up

GOLDEN GATE AFL: The oldest metro competition in the country kicked off with two men’s games and a women’s match.  The Marin Mavericks faced the San Francisco Seals, while the Oakland Pirates opened their men’s premiership defense against the San Francisco Knights.  The women’s division kicked off with the Sirens hosting the expansion Sea Turtles.  Results TBC.

BALTIMORE-WASHINGTON: The Battle of the Beltway kicked off its 5-game series with a three point eeker to the Baltimore Dockers over the Washington Eagles.  [Recap]

ST PETERSBURG: Opening night at Four n Twenty Park in downtown St. Pete saw the Swans get blown away in the fourth quarter by a determined Blackbirds outfit, who won on the back of an 8 goal to 1 final term. [Recap] [Radio Replay]

BATON ROUGE: The White team came from behind, using the wind to get up over the Purple team by ten points. [Recap]

COLUMBUS/CLEVELAND: The Ohio Metro season saw the Jackaroos extend their winning streak over Cleveland, as Columbus stomped home over the Cannons by 45. [Recap]  On the women’s side, the Pink team were 51-point victors over team Black. [Recap]

DALLAS: From last week, the Dallas Power opened their metro season with a win over the Roos by 13 points.  Dylan Murray bagged 5 goals for the Roos, while Greg Paine paced the Power with four in the win. [Recap]

HOUSTON: From last week, the Reds turned aside the Blues by 10 points in the second matchup of the season. [Recap]
