East Vice President

The USAFL is pleased to announce that Jeff Farnham has been appointed to the Vice President - East (VPEast) position. The VPEast position, vacant since original appointee Darren Beazley resigned in order to take a professional position in Australia, is a part of the USFooty Executive Board.

"I'm thrilled," said Jeff, the former President of the New York Magpies. "It's a role I take very seriously with responsibilities to the clubs in the Eastern U.S. I'm looking forward to working with all the eastern clubs."

Americans Take Over the USAFL

As you know, former President, Rich Mann and former Executive Director,
Sheri Archer, have returned to Australia. The USAFL and its member clubs
wish them the very best of luck. The league will not be able to replace
them and will miss them very much (Click Here for well wishes to Rich and
Sheri from the USAFL). The USAFL would however like to take this
opportunity to welcome and introduce our new President, Jon Lenicheck
(originally from Milwaukee, WI), our new Executive Director, Sid Caesar

Revolution Coach

Gary Hill, coach of the American Revolution, the United States National Australian Football team, added some extra excitement to Round 2 of the AZAFL when he made the trip to Phoenix to put on a coaching clinic for the leagues aspiring coaches. Thanks to excellent negotiation from John Pops Meier, AZAFL Commissioner, and great organization by Sam Yabbie Conrad, Steve Mom Hoza, and Revolution team member Jeff Fingers Purcell, the clinic paired with Round 2 to make for an excellent weekend of footy development in the Valley of the Sun.

Missing San Diego Banner

G'day Mates!

I just thought I'd drop a line to let you know I'm doing just fine.
I hear there's been a bit of a fuss about my whereabouts!
Not to worry, I just decided to take a bit of a holiday after the grueling
2001 SD Lions campaign to the National Championship.
As you can see from the photo, I'm in bonny England right now, seeing a few
of the sights.

There's a few other places I'd like to visit before I come home to sunny
San
Diego, but rest assured mates, I'll be there to start the defense of our
title with you!

AZAFL Round 3

Round 3 competition began with the AZAFL adding more groundbreaking history
as the Paradise Valley Gaels met the Tucson Javelinas. The December 1st
action took place at Estevan Park in Tucson with the Javelinas hosting the
Gaels in the first ever Aussie Rules match in Tucson. Tucson club President
Anthony Squirrel Starks and the rest of the enthusiastic Javs welcomed the
Gaels to their home grounds.

New League Office

Please join me in officially welcoming Executive Director Steve "Sid" Caesar
and Office Manager Andrea Caesar on board! After a long and careful search,
the USAFL Board determined that Steve and Andrea were best qualified to
handle the demands and duties of the league office. As Office Manager,
Andrea will handle the day to day business in the office, while Steve is the
Executive Director and will carry out the Executive Director's duties and
responsibilities.
