AWA (Australians Within Atlanta) will be having an Australia Day Dinner on Friday, January 26, 2007, with Amanda Hodges, Consul-General of Australia, as the guest of honour.

Australia Day Footy tournament January 27, 2006 - -- The annual Florida Australia Day tournament returns on Saturday January 27. Past winners are Atlanta, Florida, and Tampa twice. This year it looks to be a round robin contest between Sarasota plus other Florida players, the University of South Florida, and Vanderbilt University from Nashville TN. NY Magpies - Australia Day Party - Friday, January 26th at 9 PM at The Tonic Bar, 7th Avenue between 48th and 49th. Due to the huge number of guests at the 2006 event, we will be pre-selling tickets for $10. Join us to celebrate with plenty of real Australia: Bundaberg Rum, Meat Pies, Coopers, Tooheys & J. Boags Aussie beers, Aussie music, Aussie videos, Jacobs Creek Aussie wine, and more. There will be a dance floor set up on the 2nd floor with a DJ so you can strut your stuff or at least attempt to.

Ashes highlights and the Australian Open Tennis should also be on live very late that night so stick around to watch on the numerous plasma screens. Entry fee is tax deductible since the Magpies are a qualified public charity. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to another worthy charity as well. Tickets will also be available at the door for $20 so buy online and save some dough.

Philadelphia
Ripper Australia Day at Matilda’s Restaurant. The all Aussie buffet starts at 1:00 PM on January 28th. Included in the buffet will be all of our favorite items such as Meat Pies,
Sausage Rolls, Roast Leg of Lamb, Prawns, Veggies, Lamingtons, Pavlova and a
bunch of other stuff. All this for just $18.95 for Adults and $6.99 for kids
under 12 years of age, 6 and under are free.

We will have live music with mandatory singing of all our favorite songs so
brush up on your Waltzing Matilda and Advance Australia Fair. Last year we had over 300 Aussies in attendance and judging by the amount of reservations we already have we expect even more this year.
