Baltimore/Washington's Tribute to Steve Irwin

Dipper and Peter Schwab get nabbed by the Baltimore Washington Eagles in their Steve Irwin outfits

At the Saturday night poolside happy hour at the Frontier Hotel, the Baltimore Washington Eagles paid tribute to Australian icon, Steve Irwin, by dressing up as the Aussie legend. All the guys and girls of the team went to the trouble of wearing his famous khaki shirt and shorts, with a few snakes and crocs as props. Eagles president, Rob Brunton, explained why, “Last year the St. Louis Blues players dressed as 70’s footballers, even going to the trouble of growing bushy moustaches and sideburns. We thought we should do something this year as a way to keep our guys together and have some fun, without having too many Coopers. As it was Vegas, we were going to do Elvis, but with the unfortunate passing of Steve, we decided to pay tribute to the great Australian Ambassador.”

The way the Eagles swept their pool and went onto to blitz the Minnesota Freeze in the Division two final, by crikey, they may have just started a new USFooty tradition.
