Invitation from Coolamon Rovers

The Coolamon Rovers invite players from the US looking for a unique Australian experience to consider playing with their club this year.  The Rovers are part of the Riverina Football League which is in New South Wales and one of the stronger leagues outside the metropolitan area.


Accomodation would not be a problem and work would probably depend on what skills the players had but they do their best to find some type of employment.

Golden Gate finalize draw

We have 16 league games scheduled again this year and for the first time in our history, we have introduced a semi final.The additional final will be between the 2 and 3 teams on the ladder at seasons end to take on the team that finishes in first place.

Updated Nationals Seeding system for 2008:

Many clubs have expressed concern in the process to develop the seedings for the Nationals. Issues raised included:


- clubs would develop their schedules to avoid difficult travel that may result in a loss to a lower ranked team
- it appeared that previous Nationals performance did not count to a given years seeding
- seedings were announced late and no clubs understood their likely division.

Aussie Rules continues to grow on college campuses

Often mistaken for rugby, the Australian rules football team is building its following at N.C. State.


For those who frequent Miller Fields, it is a familiar sight -- a group of men have marked off a large section of the field and are playing an unfamiliar game with an oval-shaped ball. They are the N.C. State rugby team.

Sheeds wants AFL Round 1 overseas


Former Richmond and Essendon great Kevin Sheedy has called for future AFL seasons to commence with Round 1 played outside of Australia. He made the comment at the AFL Coaching Conference on the Gold Coast, Queensland. As strong an advocate for international footy as worldfootynews.com is, even we might hesitate to seriously suggest such a dramatic change due to the risk of alienating supporters in Australia.

Nashville Kangaroos Tryouts and Recruitment Day


February means one thing to me as coach of the Nashville Kangaroos Football team: only one more month until training officially starts! We had such a terrific year in 2007 both on and off the field, that not even the cold winds nor the snow can dampen my enthusiasm for what is possible in 2008. As the entire administrative staff has been getting prepared to launch 2008, I feel like I have been more busy than a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest!
