Dockers vs. Swans Pre-Game Report

The Cincinnati Dockers will host the Chicago Swans Saturday, April 15th for
the 2000 season opener. This will be the first match of the 2000 season for
both clubs. The game is scheduled to ball up at 2pm

History

The Cincinnati Dockers finished three spots higher than the Swans in last
year's United States Australian Football League (USAFL)National Tournament.
The Dockers finished 5th while the Swanies finished 8th but, the Swans did
have the better series record defeating the Dockers two games to one in 1999.

The Dockers defeated the Chicago Swans in Cincinnati on May 15, 1999 by a
score of 69 to 57. The Swans took the next two matches, both in Chicago, by
scores of 93-68 and 62-23. Read the match reports from these games:

2000 Season

The Cincinnati Dockers have been training since mid February. A majority of
the practices in February and March were indoor. The Dockers have just
recently returned to training outdoors. Twice a week the squad has met to
prepare for the coming season. Membership is up for the 2000 season, the
Dockers now have almost 30 members.

The Dockers have a strong squad of new recruits, and Fifteen rookies have
joined the team. The Dockers only have four Australians amongst the 30 man
squad. Surely, the Dockers are the most American team in the USAFL.

The Chicago Swans have also had a strong off season, growing their team to 34
men. Training for the 2000 season began on January 9th for the Swanies and
they have continued to train once a week since then. The Swans hold a strong
Australian advantage over the Dockers fielding 15 Australians. The Swans will
also prove to be an experienced team in 2000 with 21 players returning from
last season.

Come out and see these two great rivals kick off the 2000 season. The Match is
