2013 Seattle Grizzlies Exemption Request for Joel Pedro

Player:
Joel Pedro
Exemption Type:
Eligibility Points
Reason:
Joel is new to the Grizzlies for 2013. He has played in several Metro games this season, in the Rain City Ripper and Stumptown Throwdown. Being new to the team and the league, somehow the fact that he needed to be registered early to accrue all his points was lost and he didn't register until late in the season. He will be playing Oct 5th v Portland, so his sum total points accrued will be 2. Joel's 2013 history is not displayed in the LMS, but we do have his name on many of the scorecards. When I entered his data, it was as an unregistered player. Joel has been a dedicated player, a regular at training every week, and has fully committed himself to Nationals including travel arrangements. Joel was raised in Australia and played Aussie Rules while in school. He hung up his boots in 2001 and didn't touch them again until 2013. He's been a great resource in training and has brought inspiration to our club especially as that pertains to elevating the skills of players completely new to the game. His failure to register early was the result of an intraclub communications failure, so I will seek at least half of the responsibility for the necessity of authoring this request. We had technical issues for the first half of the season that caused us to completely renew the communications methods that had been in place for many years and some comm fell through the cracks. Looking back, we can identify improvements for 2014. We ask that you grant Joel Pedro a points exemption for 2013 based on his season-long dedication to the Grizzlies and his status as a newcomer to the USAFL.
