Devos Win, Liberty Falls on Parallel Cup Opening Night

LAUDERHILL, Florida – The next wave of American footy nationals took to the field on Friday night under the lights at Central Broward Regional Park, and for eighty minutes at a time, a total of forty-eight men and women attempted to show that they had what it takes to play at the international level.

USA Liberty Announce Captains for Parallel Cup

The Freedom and Liberty coaching staff are pleased to announce the Liberty Leadership team for the upcoming 49th Parallel Cup being played in Fort Lauderdale, FL this weekend. 

Lizzie Even who led the the Liberty squad in 2014 at the International Cup will be back in 2015 as our Captain. Her 4th year in the program, Lizzie has developed into a fine leader with plenty of voice on and off the field, and the team will be looking to her come this Friday.

It says somewhere in a really old book that a lot of people read that one should “love thy neighbor.”  And when it comes to Canada, we do really like our neighbors to the North.  They are great people living in a beautiful country with much better healthcare laws and a lower drinking age than we have here.

2015 49th Parallel Cup - Ft Lauderdale, Florida, USA

The 10th renewal of the 49th Parallel Cup carnival comes to the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida this weekend.  Nearly 100 athletes representing both nations will take part in a total of four matches over two days – Friday, July 31st and Saturday, August 1st.  The USAFL, in conjunction with AFL Canada, will be streaming all four PC matches live on YouTube.  Both days’ coverage will begin at 5:45pm ET, with Brian Barrish and Denis Ryan leading the commentary team for the weekend.  There will also be live updates on Twitter and Facebook.

Talented Triumvirate Leads USA Freedom Forward

A new day dawns for the USA Freedom women, and with it, a new set of faces to lead them into the future.

The three women who make up the national team’s leadership group are a microchasm of the squad itself.  Each comes from the three regions of the USAFL, East, Central, and West.  There is a mixture of experience and youth, and all three have backgrounds in different sports.

USA Freedom and Liberty Rosters Named for Parallel Cup

The women who will don the red, white, and blue and take on the Canadian national sides at the 49th Parallel Cup in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, have been announced.  In all, 47 players, representing eight USAFL clubs, will make up the USA Freedom national team, and the USA Liberty development team.

Ft Lauderdale to Host 2015 49th Parallel Cup Matches

A new road ahead of a new International Cup lies in waiting.  And it begins in sunny Florida with an all too familiar rivalry.

The 2015 edition of the 49th Parallel Cup, featuring a series of international test matches between the USA and Canada, will be held July 31st and August 1st at beautiful Central Broward Regional Park Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
